UPDATE 1

Greetings Everyone!

May this update bless and encourage you to know that God is truly moving in the earth today, building a glorious church for these Kingdom days!

I have been in Africa for one week now, having spent the past 7 days in Eldoret and currently now in Kitale. Each time I come to Africa, I learn something different and profound that changes my life. I don't want to write the typical report from the field that I read time after time on the internet. Yes, God is doing marvelous things and we are seeing lives touched, healed, delivered and saved all for the glory of Jesus Christ. But, there is so much more. God is building something glorious and wonderful through Rivers of Eden and I can see a foundation being laid in people's lives that will leave a legacy unto the Lord. Thank you to all that are praying for me while I am here. I feel that I am born for the nations and when I get on a plane, I come alive and in Africa, I come alive. I love it here.

When I come here, I always realize that there are no props to lean on here.... it is all God, or nothing. What do I mean by props? Well, how often the western church hides behind its props of modern technology and often uses them to validate an anointing that is actually not present. It is often emotions pumped up by the glitz of modern technology that we in the west are so used to when we attend conferences or services. Now please understand, I am not against modern technology or else how could I get this email to you...but there is something about simplifying it all and getting down to the simplicity that is found in Christ Jesus. This is the place where we take no glory and see that all that is being done is HIM.

There are no high powered sound systems to rely on in some places here, at least not where we go into the smaller churches and the poorer areas. There are no high powered choirs or worship teams pumping up the volume. It is simple people hungry and desperate for God seeking and wanting something more in their lives. In other words, there is no hype. The Rivers of Eden team ministered this past week in an area of Eldoret called Kamkunji (hope I get this spelled right). This is a poor slum area and the need is great but our God is greater than any need.

What I desired is what I saw as we plowed in this area. This is only our second visit to this area and so we are plowing and settling into the vision and purpose of what God desires for us here. I saw people want Jesus and willing to sit under the impartation of His word so that their lives may be enriched and filled and changed. We saw lives changed and encouraged and challenged as we spoke on anointing, mantles from God, truth, spiritual reality and what we see God dong in Eldoret. Some of it was a rebuke and challenged people to not come under a covering of deception which truly exists in Kenya. We prayed and laid hands on many people. It was glorious in every way.

We are not concerned about coming into an area and just preaching a good conference and leaving but Rivers of Eden is apostolically building for the future so that something beautiful would come forth through our lives. We have established in Kitale and the office is running wonderfully. In Eldoret, we are building and soon coming is our trip to Kapenguris where we shall lay seeds of revival. The team that travels along side me is Harun Shikuku and Janet Wekesa as well as others that we are mentoring for His glory.

There is no substitute for reality, the reality of the person of Jesus Christ. No hype, no distractions- the simplicity of Christ filling the places where He sends us so that His glory may change lives.

Jesus said, "The words that I speak are spirit and they are life." That is what we desire and we are seeing. Jesus Himself moving through small congregations and touching people. We listen and wait on God for the very words of life to His people. This comes with an impartation with power to change, break, heal and restore. I realize here how often I use excess words which often erode spiritual authority. Excess words can often belabor a point and dilute a message, draining it of power and authority in a situation.

Our desire is to walk as Jesus walked and speak as He spoke, in the power of the Living Word, filling our mouths with Himself. We speak and proclaim and things are changed, atmospheres are healed and demons are fleeing, simple words such as “Be healed!" or "Come out!" We desire to see more of this in the coming days....His very words spoken through us - no hype or presumption but pure spiritual reality. May I decrease so that He will increase in me? May Rivers of Eden steward the glory so that the manifested person of Jesus Christ is alive! In that glory, in the awe and presence of God, may we walk, touch and speak and see change.

UPDATE 2

We are being led in Kenya by the Spirit to cities in which God has prepared a platform for Rivers of Eden. That gives us a peace for I am truly seeing God back up His word with power in each meeting and in each conference. I have only one week until I leave and there is still much to do here. It seems that longer time is required when one comes here and is establishing a work in the Lord. That is why we shall return in the summer for at least 6 weeks.

In the recent conference in Kitale/Matisi, I was so pleased to see a good attendance by leaders that were hungry, humble and submitted before the Lord. God has truly, like Gideon, shifted away many at the river that had impure motives and agendas. Because of this, the Spirit of God moved powerfully in impartation in the word with some great altar calls. We are building with faith and patience as we are inheriting the promises of God given to Rivers of Eden.

God said to truly walk forth in the Apostolic and release vision and destiny in people's lives. This was truly done and we saw some amazing things. God anchored us in Acts 3 and began to show me that the Apostolic was to set people free from the bondage of poverty, lack, and slavery. Many indeed live in a nation bound at this time by poverty and lack but as sons and daughters of the King, we are shifting their focus onto the prosperity that is evident in the Kingdom.............Kingdom prosperity. Not finances but prosperity of health, resources and many blessing for those who will follow the King into their destiny. Many still see themselves as slaves and not sons and daughters of the King. We are trying to impart to them a sense of purpose where they do not see the West as their source of financial blessing, which often leads many into deception and lies. We are seeing a remant rise up and that gives me great joy, great joy. Many, after 4 days, rose up just as Peter and John called for the beggar to rise up from the Gate and praise their God. I became the message and the messenger.

In altar calls an anointing was strong for healing and prophecy and often times, I was led to sing prophetically when the Spirit of God moved among the people. Each time we come, we see greater and greater things happen. There is so much to say but words cannot express that for the first time, we are establishing in honor and integrity and the favor of the Lord. We are trying to teach them to be focused on where the Spirit is leading them at this time. The biggest distraction in Africa is coming here and suddenly you are thrust into endless ministry that can keep you busy but with little if any impact. We only go where Spirit of of God is leading which means that instead of handing out cards and promoting ourselves in any way, we simply follow the flow of the River.

Some of the topics taught were eternity, the supernatural, the power of death that has been conquered by the cross, apostolic vision, the force of righteousness, spiritual mantles, etc. etc etc. I have been given a Creative Zen by God, a MP3 player as well as a digital recorder so I have taped every message and already put them on CD to leave here. When I get home, these messages will be on our web site so I pray that some of you are able to listen to them to get a feel for what we do here.

We are building a team here.........strong and sure. We are going to look into registering the ministry in 2006. We currently have about 60 books and many tapes in the Rivers of Eden office in Kitale. God is giving us new ideas as a team and we will be implementing them step by step. We hope to have 200 books by the end of 2006. Our team is moving in a spirit of excellence and integrity and we are seeing great fruit come forth.

We have one more set of meetings in Kapenguria toward the end of this week. Over the next few days, I will be spending time one on one with some people to meet them and get to know who wants to labor amongst us. A strong team is built by walking and talking and eating with people, just like Jesus did.

UPDATE 3

Hello Everyone!

I am writing this from the Amsterdam Airport waiting for the next fight to Detroit. For those of you who have prayed for Rivers of Eden during this past trip to Kenya, all I can say is thank you from my heart. As Marvin and I both expected, it was my 7th trip and God promised that this time of ministry would flow from HIS PERFECT REST. And God was faithful to that promise to me.

This trip was extraordinary in that Rivers of Eden has established a firm foundation in Kenya and from here, despite warfare, we go forward into God's perfect plan. The office is up and running and our team was perfect in the anointing of God as we traveled forth into Kitale/Matisi, Eldoret and Kapenguria. As I have said many times, we only go where God is leading us. In fact, we rarely hand out cards because we have discovered that the Holy Spirit makes His perfect way for us and where He leads there is provision and safety in each place that we go to.

A few highlights with more coming when I get home...........

God orchestrated that a local pastor give me their air time on Imani Radio that was broadcast last Monday. God simply told me to call forth a Joseph anointing for this time of severe famine in Eastern Kenya where many are dying, while the government lives in extravagance. In speaking that forth, I was able to prophesy and reach a larger group of people with encouragement a challenge...............that the answer for Kenya lies in God's government, not the government of man.

Also last August, God simply gave me the name Kapenguria and told me to go. So, a team of us from Kitale went - me, Harun, Janet, Stephen Albert and Bishop Francis. We met with a group of about 10-15 pastors and simply spoke the prophetic word of the Lord over Kapenguria. Previous to going there for 2 days, I spent a great deal of time in prayer so God gave me many visions for the city. We spoke forth the vision and encouraged reconciliation and unity among this group of leaders. We saw much fruit in that 2 day series of meetings so it is another city God added to our covenant list.

We will be going back in the summer for 8 weeks to continue the work. At this time we shall start with an apostolic/prophetic gathering in Kitale. To promote unity, we shall ask 7 pastors from Kapenguria and 7 pastors from Eldoret to come to Kitale. We will pay their way in addition to supplying them with a place to stay and food to eat. God is so good.

I will be home for 1 week and then I head to Finland with Marvin. We shall do a 3 day leadership conference in Helsinki and then go to Lappeenranta for a week of ministry.

I will write more when I get home. We will be posting a series of messages that you can listen to online from the Rivers of Eden web site. I pray that you would be able to listen and get a feel for ministry in Africa. Also while in Africa, God birthed many words in my spirit. I shall post them along the way and pray that they bless each of you

Update Kenya, August 2005

Rivers of Eden has found many and is building an army like Gideon to come forth in grace and glory to establish His righteousness through the path God has set down for us. God's glory shall come forth through this land................surely He shall.

Proverbs 11:11 says that through the blessing of the upright the city is exalted. These are words of Spirit and life. Men and women of God in Kenya, take back your land from the grasp of the destroyer. Walk through your city and proclaim and decree righteousness so that it may be established in our midst. It is in doing this, that the Exalted One comes into our midst with His throne to exalt the city or the nation that He calls His own.

Nations such as Kenya will be changed by a holy, fiery remnant that walks in transforming humility and grace who tremble at the very Word of God. They walk in a revelation of righteousness which brings light into the darkness. Never underestimate what God can and will do through just one person!

During this trip to Kenya, God is did mighty things. In addition to His presence being felt and seen during the meetings, we established an office in Kitale. Rivers of Eden ordained Harun Shikuku and we hired Janet as the office administrator. God has begun to show us the "Promised Land" that He said He would give us.

We are presently waiting for the land to build the resource center that God has given to us in a vision. God has showed us different areas in Kenya that will open up to His Glory. We will be that "New Generation" that will cross over and take the Promised Land in His name.

God's people in Kenya will arise into a clear revelation of righteousness. This revelation will be established in the hearts of people where Christ and His very character and nature truly rule and reign before it flows through us as agents of change.

When God's people rise up in a revelation of righteousness found in Christ Jesus, the manifestation of righteousness will surely be felt throughout a nation and a region. These are the days that are upon us as God's Apostles and Prophets move out in power and authority!
